I got them as a shower gift and I thought "Great, another storage set" but no, its SO much more! I can bake in it, freeze in it and microwave in it. Plus the lids make for easy, spill-proof storage and transportation. I even keep baked goods (cookies, cupcakes, etc) in them instead of plastic bags.
Here is what Pyrex says about their product:
• PYREX® glassware products can go directly from refrigerator or freezer to a microwave, convection, or preheated conventional oven. A small amount of liquid should be added to the ovenware vessel prior to baking foods that release liquids while cooking.
• PYREX glassware is non-porous glass, so it won’t absorb food flavors, odors, or stains.
• PYREX glassware is non-reactive, so acid-based recipes, including tomato-based sauces, lemon-infused dishes and vinegar-based poultry sauces can be prepped and baked without affecting the result of the recipe.
• Made in America, PYREX glass products are microwave and dishwasher safe.

and one of the things i'm looking forward to getting most is storage containers!!
I love my pyrex as well! I have a couple casserole dishes with lids as well as a set of round storage containers!
I have old and new pyrex. I love the old bowls, but awhile back I got some of these casserole dishes with lids.. they are great!!
Hope your having a great summer
Wow, those do look great. I have one pyrex dish, but I've always just baked brownies in it.
I'd much rather store food in glass than plastic - thanks for the review and tip!
